2023 has been ushered in with a rebound in pockets of equity underperformance from 2022. Signs of cooling inflation having a more benign impact on the global economy alongside the reopening of the Chinese economy have been the primary drivers of the speculative frenzy in equity markets. Volatility remains very elevated, and the IMF is warning of recessions across developed markets. High dividend, Quality stocks have weathered volatile markets in 2022 and can help investors navigate this challenging environment. In this presentation, we will illustrate how:
– Quality strategies can help build wealth over the long term whilst being defensive during economic downturns.
– High-Quality companies have higher pricing power allowing them to defend their margins by passing cost inflation to their customer
– High Dividend tilt helps in the current rate hike cycle by lowering implied duration
– Defensive factor, able to weather increased uncertainty
